Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the IC?
A: The International Center of West Lafayette, Inc., is an independent not-for-profit community organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our mission is to assist International residents, and to foster cross-cultural knowledge and understanding.
Q: How is the IC funded?
A: The IC funding is provided by the rental of eight rooms to international graduate students, the annual International Food Bazaar in April, other fund-raising events during the course of the year, participant fees for some activities, and by the generosity of many contributors during our annual fund raising campaign.

A: No, the IC is an independent not-for-profit community organization. We receive no funding from Purdue, however we are located on the Purdue campus.

A: The International Center and the Office of International Students and Scholars are not the same thing. ISS is an office at Purdue University while the IC is a separate and independent organization. Often the IC works with the ISS.

A: The IC cannot help with Visa problems, but we can direct you to the ISS where they can assist you.
Q. Where can I park at the IC?
A: Right behind the IC are several parking spaces on Tarkington Dr (only accessible from Stadium Dr.). Just down the road a bit are more parking spaces if the driveway and spaces behind the IC are full. These spaces require a parking permit from the IC which are available upon request.
Q: I am interested in participating in IC activities, but I am not a Purdue student. Can I still join?
A: All of our classes, activities, and programs are open to the general public. There are a few programs that are more appropriate for specific age groups (example: Play Group for toddlers and infants along with their parents).
