The International Center of West Lafayette (Indiana), Inc. was founded in 1971 by community members who sought to welcome and assist international newcomers to Purdue and Greater Lafayette. Our purpose is to foster the spirit of international cooperation and understanding, and to enrich the cultural diversity within the Greater Lafayette (Indiana) community. We seek to promote interaction among US American and International community residents and visitors, including students, visiting scholars, and faculty and staff from Purdue University and other area academic institutions.

The International Center is a not-for-profit community organization with a volunteer Board of Directors and does not receive any subsidies or funding from our state or local governments. It is totally dependent upon its own fundraising activities to support its programs.

The numerous programs of the International Center owe their existence to a strong network of volunteers from the International and local communities who generously give of their time and talents.
